Maintex continues to participate in the digital transformation of JSC NC "KazMunayGas"

JSC NC KazMunayGas ¬¬is one of is one of the pioneers among enterprises of the CIS countries in the field of digitalization and business reform within the Industry 4.0 concept. One of the challenges to the national company is the transition to a new business operating model. Nowadays, the common implementation of new IT solutions prevents achieving expected results unless the company's workflows have been transformed. The methodology is the basis and one of the main tools to effectively change the enterprise.

In December 2017, a large-scale program of transition to an increased overhaul interval was launched within the digital transformation of business in KazMunayGaz. This program was based on a revolutionary approach affecting various services and processes in the enterprise. In terms of digital support, the core of the program was Meridium APM (GE APM), which has been successfully implemented with the direct involvement of Maintex consultants. However, a single powerful information platform is not enough for effective digital transformation. Within the overhaul interval increasing program, the current business processes were changed and new ones implemented, for example, mechanical integrity management and equipment reliability assurance. Maintex specialists carried out a large-scale on-site training on operating personnel to ensure the survival of new workflows and tools for their support.

In July 2018, Maintex organized training workshops for the management of JSC NC KazMunayGas and enterprises as a part of the final stage of the overhaul interval increasing program in oil refineries. The training course included methodological aspects of forming the reliability function and Meridium APM solution (GE APM) practical training:

• Production Asset Management System;
• Basics of maintenance management planning;
• Basics of reliability management;
• Meridium APM (GE APM) functionality.

"The main advantage of this training is the possibility of combining the methodological basis with the real practice based on the chosen APM solution," says Vitaliy Izak, head of the section of equipment reliability and mechanical integrity management of the refining department. "We initially considered Meridium APM as a complete solution for equipment reliability and mechanical integrity management in the petrochemical plant/refinery. At the moment, we are discussing its unification and building vertically integrated management of equipment maintenance and repair strategy, ensuring reliability and mechanical integrity in all units of the Oil Refining Unit of our national company. There is an interesting opportunity to form a corporate academy, based on two plants, to provide annual trainings as a part of capitalization and improvement of production personnel competence as well as maintaining a high level of production and corporate standards."
NC KazMunaiGas plans to gain competence in improving the efficiency of asset management, replicate this experience in all subsidiaries of the Oil Refining Unit, increase social, economic and environmental benefits from digital transformation of mechanical integrity and equipment reliability management.
