Ryazan Oil Refinery—a PAO Rosneft affiliate—enhances Meridium APM utilization through mobile walk-downs.
Ryazan Oil Refinery is one of the first companies to implement the program for increasing overhaul life. Implementation of practices and IT systems to control condition monitoring and reliability management is essential for this global program.
The project "Implementation of IT System and Maintenance Optimization Methods at CJSC Ryazan Oil Refinery" opens up huge prospects both for innovative maintenance approaches and for using special software to support new business processes and reliability and risk management at the plant. In 2012, CJSC Ryazan Oil Refinery, for the first time in Russia, implemented Meridium APM, a reliability and risk management solution.
As CJSC Ryazan Oil Refinery specialists gained experience in reliability and risk management, there emerged a need to increase quantity and quality of incoming data on service hours and condition of dynamically operating and fixed equipment. To improve efficiency of the existing IT systems for maintenance processes automation (SAP EAM) and reliability management (Meridium APM), a decision was made to enhance those systems through integration of planning and personnel's walk-down processes into maintenance strategy creation, implementation and assessment.
The customer set the task to create an optimum approach to asset condition monitoring through operating personnel's walk-downs and data collection. Maintex engineers have to complete a whole range of tasks, including:
"We are in a continuous search for new opportunities to improve our production and closely look at international practices," says Igor Kulakov, CJSC Ryazan Oil Refinery Production Director. "Reducing production risks and expenses is one of company's priorities. We are positive that enhancement of Meridium APM utilization will let us push equipment condition control and management onto a totally new level."
"This unique project will combine a wealth of modern information and diagnostic technologies, knowledge. experience and best world practices," Roman Romakhin, Maintex CEO, says. "More than 50 our employees will participate in mobile inspections at CJSC Ryazan Oil Refinery in the nearest future. Thanks to increasing speed, volume, quality and reliability of current key asset condition data, CJSC Ryazan Oil Refinery will get additional benefits from implementation of Meridium APM software package and reliability and risk management practices."
Information collected during walk-downs and data accumulation will be used to create a more accurate and effective proactive equipment maintenance strategy, aimed to optimize costs, mitigate risks and improve performance at a modern oil refinery plant.
