DEVELOPMENT OF RELIABILITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT METALLOINVEST PLANTS
19.10.2018 MAINTEX

Since 2017, Maintex has been a reliable partner of Metalloinvest Group of Companies in implementation of methods of production assets efficiency strategic management. Such capital intensive enterprise as Metalloinvest requires a comprehensive approach to implementation of equipment reliability management principles. The most important constituent of such approach is training personnel to apply new procedures, approaches, processes and culture. Metalloinvest has chosen Maintex to render high-quality services of personnel training and skills upgrading at all Group’s production sites — two mining and two metallurgical plants. Maintex specialists provided services on developing the function of critical equipment reliability management through teaching the staff new procedures (RCM, FMEA, FMECA, RCA) and practice-oriented coaching in using those procedures.

The experience of training primary local groups was deemed successful, and the task of scaling the total number of reliability specialists in the Group was set, so that to ensure fast replication of reliability management methods implementation and their establishment. Maintex has been invited to carry out additional training of specialists at Oskol Elektrometallurgical Plant, Ural Steel, Lebedinsky GOK and Mikhailovsky GOK.

Within the next three months, Maintex specialists will hold training events for over 100 employees of the Group as part of the critical equipment maintenance pilot project using the principles of reliability and risks management.

Practical training will include analysis of the pilot site criticality, and development of a maintenance program together with the Customer’s work team based on the most critical and commonly used equipment suggested by the Customer using the RCM, FMEA, FMECA and RCA methodologies. Practical training will cover the following topics:

  • Analysis of equipment criticality
  • Analysis of the current maintenance program
  • Equipment analysis as per RCM, FMEA, FMECA, RCA
  • Recommendation management
  • Development of an equipment strategy taking into account target budget and risks
  • Development of an updated maintenance program.

Together with Metalloinvest employees, Maintex specialists will develop methodological textbooks and regulations integrated into the current Metalloinvest’s business processes, to maintain and develop reliability functions, which will enable the Group to perform further transformation of their business processes to enhance operations and increase efficiency.
